Davao Doctors cooperative started in 1989. It is a credit cooperative comprised of regular employees of Davao Doctors College and Davao Doctors Hospital. I joined them purposely for my future investment. It is one way of saving my money and this cannot be withdrawn. In time that I would need the money, I just borrow anytime with just a minimal interest of 2%.
To become a member, you just have to fill up the form, attend an indoctrination and pay for the registration such as membership fee, mortuary fee and initial share capital. They have services and benefits to the members like long term loan, emergency loan, appliance loan, gift certificates, educational loan, and mortgage loan. They have also a mortuary benefit. In case of death, the beneficiaries of the deceased member shall received a cash from each member which shall be initially disbursed from the mortuary fund. Plus they have a free life insurance from Ayala Group of Companies. It is a great investment especially nowadays that we experience economic crisis. It is good that I can depend on cooperative.
